Do other remotes exhibit this issue?

Since experiencing this have you tried rebooting the iMac? Can you also try reinstalling the app?

I’m using the Remote App on my iPhone and iPad, but I haven’t had any problems with either.
I removed ~/Library/Roon, ~/Library/RAAT and reinstalled it, but it crashed again.
I haven’t rebooted. I’ll try.
