Describe the issue

Hello, I use Roon with a Macbook Pro as a server, and a Node 2i to play the music. I have two recurring issues:
1. Very often, my Roon remote app does not connect immediately to the Roon server. It takes a lot of time (from a few minutes to half an hour) for it to connect.
2. While playing on the Node 2i, sometimes the music stops because Roon loses the connection to the Node 2i, and the Node audio zone disappears. The Node audio zone usually comes back quickly, so I can restart the music, but that issue interrupts the music very frequently.

Describe your network setup

Internet: BT hub (UK). All components are linked through Wifi. Server: MacBook Pro 2017 (i5, 3.1GHz, RAM 8GB). DAC: Node 2i

Hi @Dee_Laval,
Thanks for reaching out to us about this issue. I think it’s likely that these two symptoms are caused by the same root issue. I see your Node 2i is using Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi connections tend to be more susceptible to interference. Can you try connecting it to your network with ethernet?

Hello Daniel,

Thanks a lot for your answer. I tried wiring everything with ethernet cables (both the Node 2i and the computer serving as Roon core), and it solved my issues indeed!
Cheers,
Dee
