Hi @Michael_Long,
Thanks for reaching out to us about this issue. I think the next step here is to enable some diagnostics on your account so our technical staff can get some more insight into what’s going on here.
However, before I enable this feature, I’d like to ask for your help ensuring we gather the right information.
First, can you please reproduce the issue once more and note the time at which the error occurs. Then respond here with that time, and I’ll make sure we review the diagnostics related to that timestamp.
The Roon Remote failed at approx 2:08 pm, ET, US. I was viewing a large playlist (202 tracks), and attempting to move a track to the top of the list. When I relaunched the app I received this error:
As a next step, I’d be curious to see if the same issue occurs on a fresh database within your Roon Sever, I’ll share the specific steps to follow below:
Let’s try a fresh database and see if your issues persist:
Rename the “RoonServer” folder to “RoonServer_old”
Reinstall the Roon App from our Downloads Page to generate a new Roon folder
Verify if the issue persists on a fresh database before restoring the backup - see if creating a new, fresh database causes the same crashing and freezing.
Here is the process outlined from a macOS machine:
I will give it a try. I’m trying to determine how to recreate the issue without a restore. Especially when I won’t have the large playlist to manipulate where I typically see the crash. I guess I could create a brand-new playlist on the new database. Could I restore the saved macOS/Roon database to a Ubuntu system I have and try it there? Out of curiosity, what OS does the Roon Nucleus One use?
