Describe the issue

Roon remote on my iPad Air froze and I can't get it
running

Describe your network setup

I can't

Can you force quit it, or does it still not work after restarting it?

I did just that. The reloaded App from the cloud couldn‘t find my runing Roon Server on my Mac.

Hi @Hans_Ziegler ,

Just to confirm, does the Roon app on the Mac still work as expected and the issue is localized to the iPad? Have you double checked iOS Settings → Apps → Roon → Local Network Access is toggled to On? If you see a “Select a different Roon Server” button and press on it, does the server then appear?

Hi noris, Roon app runs perfect on the Mac Studio; the issue is localized on the iPad Air bought 2024; the Local Network Access is toggled to On; I have a second older iPad Air and Roon remote is running on that one.

Hi @Hans_Ziegler,

Thanks for getting that information to us. I sent a diagnostics request to your iPad Air but unfortunately it wasn’t able to complete. When you have the chance can you activate Roon on your iPad Air and let it run for a few minutes. That should allow the diagnostic to complete.

Hi Daniel, I have solved the “tablet freezing problem” after having installed VPN and I could install ARC on my iPhone. Never the less, Roon Arc still brings forward the warning, Roon Arc will not be able to access the roon server and 502 & 504 error pops up including additional bug description.

Hi @Hans_Ziegler,

I’m glad to hear you were able to resolve the tablet freezing issue. Regarding the ARC errors—those indicate that automatic port forwarding didn’t work, so you’ll need to set it up manually. We’ve written this article to walk you through the process.

If anything in the guide is unclear or if you run into any trouble, just let us know. We’re happy to help!
