Description of Issue (Describe the issue you’re experiencing in detail):
The Roon Remote app on my iPad can’t find the Roon Core on my Mac mini. It stays stuck on “Looking for your Roon Core”.

What I’ve tried:
• Reinstalled Roon Remote app on iPad
• Restarted both Mac mini and router
• Manually entered Mac mini’s IP address on iPad
• Allowed Roon and RoonAppliance in macOS Firewall (even removed and re-added rules)
• Verified both devices are on same subnet
• Switched Mac from Ethernet to Wi-Fi (no change)
• Checked Fritz!Box settings — could not find IGMP Proxy or WLAN Isolation options
• Disabled private Wi-Fi address on iPad
• No VPN or special filtering running

Everything worked before I deleted and reinstalled the Roon app on iPad. Since then, discovery has stopped.

What else can I try? Thanks in advance for your help!

Now the iPad switch between the two messages.

Hi @Igor_Bakulin ,

macOS Sequoia (version 15), has tighter (and more obfuscated) network security settings than preceding MacOS versions.

Can you please navigate to macOS System Settings > Privacy & Security > Local Network, and make sure Roon is allowed.

If it is already enabled, toggle it off and on again. Then reboot your Mac, and see if the same issue persists.

Also, please double check that on the iPad iOS settings → Apps → Roon, that Local Network Access is toggled to On.

Please let us know if this helps!

Hi Noris,

Thank you very much for your quick and knowledgeable support!

Your suggestion regarding the local network access setting on the iPad was exactly the key. That option was indeed disabled. After enabling it, the Roon app was immediately able to find my Roon Core on the Mac mini – no restart needed.

I really appreciate your help, and I’m happy to report that everything is working perfectly again.

Best regards!
