iPhone not showing up as audio zone when using Roon Remote on iPhone, I can’t even access privacy setting. I do have ARC installed on same phone and that does play music to iPhone audio but I can’t play music from Roon remote app to iPhone audio. Is this a software conflict? Am I missing out by not being able to use Roon remote on iPhone?
@Jason_Deirmenjian, is the iPhone Roon Remote app opening and you are able to see and manage your Core, but cannot select your iPhone as an audio option, or does the iPhone Roon Remote app not actually open?
If it is the former, can you access Settings → Audio on your Core and confirm that your iPhone is visible and set to “Enable”?
I can use the app on my phone. What do you mean by managing my core? If I go to settings, then audio, I can’t see the phone anywhere, so I can’t change any settings as it relates to it, This seems very strange to me. This is a new problem for me.
Hey Jason I’ve attached a screen shot of my Audio Settings. It shows my Iphone connected as an end point. But to get that I have to turn off the VPN on my iPhone.
If i open Roon Remote on the iPhone with the VPN on, i can control Roon but can’t use the phone as an endpoint. (i.e. It will not show up in the audio settings at all)
Yeah, no dice, I can’t even connect to VPN with iPhone, so it’s off by default, is there any way to escalate this issue? even other posts concerning this issue have gone unresolved. A little disappointed with CS, despite of 50% price hike for services.
Not as far as I’m aware. It’s in the support thread, and who knows when it will reach the top of the pile, and of course now into weekend so unlikely it will much before early next week.
Hopefully someone in the community may have an answer to the problem for you…

The iPhone is shown at the top of the screen, i.e., above “Connected to Core”. Why haven’t you shown this?

Well, your earlier screenshots didn’t confirm this.
The iPhone a private zone by default, so it won’t be displayed on any other devices, unless expressly set to “No”. Since it’s not listed, I’d try reinstalling the app.
Just reinstalled on iPhone, still doesn’t work, very annoying, can someone please escalate, others have experienced this issue on forum and still no workable solution. Using latest version on iPhone and NUC.

Roon #support will respond here in due course. It may be helpful to state the iPhone model.
@Jim_F was trying to help and made a couple of suggestions.
The protocol for the Roon Labs Support Team is to deal with support requests once they reach the head of their support queue. During the wait time, Roon Labs encourage Community members to help in diagnosis by drawing on their own experience, and this has provided speedy resolution of many issues for the benefit of all.
If the Support Team cannot immediately pinpoint the cause of an issue, they will take logs from the user’s Roon setup and pass them to the QA team for investigation and diagnosis. Resolution of some issues may require a fix to be developed by the Dev team and tested before release to Production.
In fairness to the OP, I made the suggestions after he posted his comment. My original post was just saying that it worked for me to imply nothing is wrong with Roon.
As noted earlier in the thread, your recommendations were already performed, thank you for trying though, just a little frustrated at this point, it’s been almost a week and Roon hasn’t lifted a finger to help.
Is Roon still operating a technical support staff? If so, when do they plan on addressing this issue? Will it be in my lifetime? Hopefully, at least before my subscription is up for renewal.
