· Roon remote on windows and android won't connect to Roon server. Roon ARC will.

· This is not relevant. It was working fine then started shooting or brown noise between tracks and when I restarted Roon to try and solve the issue it refused to connect anymore.
Thanks for your message. Is there any change in behavior if you try to reboot your Roon Server and networking gear? What is the model/manufacturer of your networking gear and how are the server/remotes connected? Is the Server still on the same subnet as the remotes you are trying to use?
Hi Noris.
Unfortunately restarts of everything connected to the Roon server didn’t help when I tried 2 days ago, but the other 19 devices on my network haven’t had any issues (before or since the restarts). Hence the original post for assistance.
I just noticed some additional odd behaviour though:
If I open Roon (being used as the Roon remote) on my Microsoft Surface, it says it can’t find my server.
If I select ‘find my server’, it returns no result and offers me the option to ‘Setup a sever on this PC’ (my Microsoft surface which is being used as my Roon remote). I can also click on ‘Configure Roon OS devices’ at the bottom of that same screen.
When I click on that option, it brings up the Roon Rock internet browser screen (where you can restart, reinstall OS etc.), however I can’t get that same screen to load at all when I go into an internet browser directly and enter the Roon Server IP address.
I’ve just cycled all my network devices again and the only thing not allowing me to connect is Roon.
I restarted the Roon server and still the same issue.
I restarted Roon on my Microsoft Surface and now I am able to connect to my library and listen to music again.
It’s bizarre that this happened and no other devices on my network were affected and a previous device cycle didn’t help (perhaps Roon is sensitive to the order of restart actions?), but at least it’s working now, and I have a restart procedure I can use should this happen again for some unknown reason.
Thanks for your support.
Glad to hear that the system is working again after restarting the Surface remote! If you have any further difficulties, just let us know and we can take another look, thanks!
