Roon remote (PC) crashing on startup/selecting tracks/navigating UI

Roon Core Machine

Windows 11, I7-10700k
ROCK 2.0 (build 1128)
Roon Remote is on build 1211

Description of Issue


  1. Constant (when selecting/searching tracks) crashes
  2. ROCK failed upgrade on each reboot (“there was an error checking for an update”)

Try updating the graphics driver from the manufacturer site not windows update.

Hi ged - updated to Geforce Ready drivers 528.49 through the “geforce experience” utility - “you have the latest driver installed…”

I wanted to check in on this thread to see if you were still running into issues?

Lets see if refreshing your database impacts the issue at all. Steps to follow below:

  • Create a Backup of your current database
  • Exit out of Roon
  • Navigate to your Roon Database Location
  • Find the folder that says “Roon”
  • Rename the “Roon” folder to “Roon_old”
  • Reinstall the Roon App from our Downloads Page to generate a new Roon folder
  • Verify if the issue persists on a fresh database before restoring the backup
