Roon Remote showing Roon Server outputs instead of local endpoints on MacBook (ref#JBXHCO)

Hi! What’s not quite right with Roon?

· None of the above quite fits

· Audio played through the System Output endpoint of "This Mac" using a Roon Remote on a MacBook separate from the Roon Server comes out on the Roon Server's system output. Similarly, the Roon Remote is unable to see USB DACs plugged into the MacBook, while plugging USB DACs in to the Roon Server makes them appear on the Roon Remote under "This Mac". It's like the Roon Remote is simply proxying the Roon Server rather than a remote. Note that a Roon iOS app connected to the same Roon Server correctly displays the System Output as "Connected to the Roon Server"

Hello @Greg_Hall ,

Did you by any chance use Time Machine/Migration Assistant to transfer a Mac backup? If so, I have sent you advanced troubleshooting instructions as a private message, please let us know here if it works!

Hi @Greg_Hall,

We’re going to mark this as Solved since we’ve confirmed in our PM that you’re no longer experiencing this issue.

For other users who come across this thread: please keep in mind that Time Machine migration will clone the Roon Server unique identifier instance and can cause connectivity issues with Roon/RAAT.

If you are migrating your Mac user account to a new computer, please create a Roon Backup, uninstall Roon completely by deleting your database, and then restore a Backup on the new machine after installing Roon again. Here’s a guide: https://help.roonlabs.com/portal/en/kb/articles/migration
