· Roon Remotes are slow to connect to the core. It's so bad that I've started restarting the core on a daily basis.
The endpoint I use most is an Onkyo ICON P-80. It doesnt matter if I connect this wireless or wired.
The core has recently been migrated to Windows 11. I used to run ROCK on the NUC (Asus NUC13ANH), which is connected by wire to my network. I was hoping it might run a little smoother on Win11. All power saving options are turned off.
The NUC is an i3, has 32GB RAM and music is stored on an internal 8TB SSD. My library consists of almost 76 thousand tracks.
Any idea's? I'm hoping you can see something in my logs which might give me a clue as to what's happening.
Thanks in advance and have a great weekend!

Thanks for reaching out. It is interesting that restarting your Server helps, good to note. Can you please let us know the exact local time + date when you observe this issue? If possible please also pause music so that the diagnostics can paint a clearer picture. What remotes are you using? What is the model/manufacturer? Does the issue occur over multiple remote operating systems?
I’m just experiencing some issues right now. So I thought I’d report them. It’s been for the last 5 mins or so. Both my laptop (HP, i5, elitebook 850 g7, Win11) and my phone (Samsung Galaxy s25 edge) are slow to connect.
It’s 01:32 now, so the last 10 mins are probably worth looking at…
Thanks!
Edit: Also just checked memory usage on the NUC, is this considered normal?
Edit #2: It’s just gotten a lot worse, now at 01:40

The latest Roon release includes a new feature (Background Work Scheduling) that will allow you to offload certain network-related functions in Roon Server to times when you aren’t actively using the server for browsing/playback. We’re curious to see if scheduling has any effect on the symptoms you’ve reported here.
