Roon ROCK not visible in network devices on Windows PC (ref#4P95S2)

i can no longer see my roon rock in network devices on a windows PC.

Describe your network setup

Asus router, dlink switch. It was working fine before, then today when i went to add more music files, it was just gone.

Most likely same reason and solution as here:

Type rock instead of nucleus, of course

it does not show up when I type it into the search bar, that is the issue I am having

Did you type it into the address box or the search box?

If you type it into the address box, there should at least be an error message if it doesn’t work

sorry yes, i meant address bar. Now it is asking me for network credentials when I do so, this has never happened before, and I do not have any “network credentials”

i just closed some other windows and saw this error under them. Not sure if it helps.

Are you running Windows 11 and updated to 24H2? If so:

Quick link below. Beware: The steps 1-5 of the solution are for NAS where you can create a log-in account with authentication. You can’t do that on ROCK, and therefore the solution for this starts at step 6 (re-allow guest/guest log-in on the Windows client):

Regarding this error:

The error code 0x80004005 means nothing more than the “unspecified error” it printed. I’d say, close this for now and try the above solution (provided that you are using Win 11 24H2). Let’s see if this fixes it.

leave it to windows to mess things up! I can now access the folders, however, I still cannot see them in the network list, meaning I have to retype this in the address bar every time I need access. Is there a way to have it appear like it used to?

Map it to a drive letter, then it will always be listed in the Computer section of the tree:
