Is there a way I can manually force an update? My Rock has been steady for over 2 years.
Try using the Web Administration Interface page for your ROCK and Reinstall the Roon Operating System. That may clear the glitch.
Does I need to do a restore of from my backup after I do the Web Admin resinstall?
Does this wipe my 5TB music files I have on my main drive?
From the help article on the Web Administration Interface:
And it won’t wipe your music files either.
Ok, I ran the Reinstall button from the interface. It only ran for 20 seconds or so after I confirmed then the pop up dissapeared. Didn’t seem like there was any change. I rebooted my machine and tried to run the update in the Roon app, but it repeated the failure like the screensavers above.
Can you post a screenshot of your Web Administration Interface screen? That might give Support some more information to work with.
I figured out what the problem was. It was not Roon, it was the DNS service I am using at my router, NextDNS. It seemed to be blocking the update service. I’ve used it for a year without problems, but now I guess there is some new block. I changed the DNS service at my router back to a standard one, and rebooted it and then the Roon server, the server showed the new DNS. I then ran the Reinstall button, and it worked!
