Roon running in Docker on UnRaid 6.x

FINALLY! :star_struck:

Soo… I was bored and wanted to learn how to Docker and Unraid so this morning I created a roon-server based on ubuntu LTS (20.04 or focal for the moment) and the install script for roon-server (core).
Still tweaking the details a little bit, but it is good to go.
Point /music to your Music dir and /backups to your backup dir if you have one, simple right?
I used the “brain” icon https://roonlabs.com/img/how_roon_works-core.png from https://roonlabs.com/downloads as the docker icon in Unraid, if that is not ok, please let me know and I will change it to something else.

How to get it:

  1. Add my templates repo in Unraid:
    https://github.com/magnu5/docker-templates and click “Save”.

  2. After that you can click the “Add Container” button and roon-server should appear in the Default Templates list:

github: https://github.com/magnu5/roon-server
docker hub: https://hub.docker.com/r/magnust/roon-server

@Magnus_Tuominen Thank you! Followed your dead-simple instructions and Roon server docker is up and running. Just had to additionally specify my Music share folder in Roon storage settings and it’s all good now. Awesome stuff!

I don’t recall where I stumbled across this version of the docker, but it’s been working well for me. I wrote it up over at unRaid.
