Description of Issue

Roon says it has created successful backups but then says that no backups exist

When I tap the menu and select clean/restore, I get the following:

This is also what I see when I click “Find Backups” and navigate to the directory in which I store the backups.

This concerns me because I had a recent issue where my tags got deleted. Restarting the server fixed it, but before I did that I attempted to perform a restore and that’s when I found that it doesn’t appear to recognize any of the backups.

Some help would be greatly appreciated as to how I can ensure my backups exist and are useable.

When navigating, did you enter Roon Backups? If so, select Backups instead.

I just did Backups and it gives me the same error. No backups found. Anyway I can troubleshoot this further?

Please show us a screenshot of the screen before you click „Select this folder“, as in my screenshots, since it seems to me you’re drilling too far down into the folder structure.

I’m certain you’re mistaken. Here’s the screenshot you want. I’m sending a video too just for further evidence

here you can see video trying just about anything you could want to try. it can access the folders but it keeps telling me there’s no backups in existence

No need to take my post as an attack - wasn’t intended as such.

It might just me being thick…plus, I’m just trying to help!

That said, your new screenshot doesn’t actually show what I was suggesting, and the video is too fast and chaotic for me to properly follow…

Again:
You’ve got to click „Select this folder“ in the subfolder containing the file
_roon_backup _root _

I did that. I tried every folder and subfolder. It doesn’t detect any backups anywhere. The video came out kinda fast but you can see I did that in the video.

I’m afraid I couldn’t follow the animated GIF since it’s not possible to pause playback. However, it looked like you may have nested backup folders.

Alright, wasn’t clear to me…

Really feel with you, but am out of ideas, unfortunately!

Let me flag the pros from @support to help figure this one out…

It’s very strange. I’m going to delete the backups and the backup schedule and start from scratch.

That fixed it:

Deleted all backups and backup schedules so it warns that there’s no backups.

Create new backup schedule and force backup.
