Roon says it is playing 20 tracks but it takes minutes before the first track starts really playing

Mac mini with SSD running Roon Core only with attached 5TB harddisk with 13000 CD’s on it directly attached to Kii Control via USB. Latest Roon 1.7.
This problem started suddenly out of the blue already before the latest update of Roon software. Before everything went fine with the same configuration. I command on my iPad to play a song or a CD and Roon says I am playing 20 tracks now, but the little red indent which shows up normally at the beginning of a track and starts to move as the music plays does not show up anymore. So I give up and suddenly maybe 5 minutes later the track starts to play. What can this be?

Hi @Frans_Devies,

Can you describe your networking setup? Also can you provide some additional information about the Mac Mini Core?

Does this happen if you play to System Output of the Mac Mini?

Do you have TIDAL or Qobuz integrated with Roon? Does the same behavior occur?

There is a WiFi network only for my iPad and that is OK. My Mac Mini works on the latest iOS and there is only the latest Roon Core working on it. Attached is a 5 TB harddisk with the music files. The Roon database is on the 250 GB SSD from the Mac Mini.
I have no Tidal or Qobuz. I only play to my Kii Control. See pictures.

I think the problem is solved: The attached Harddisk got not enough power, only on a critical level. I changed the power adapter and the problem is gone!

Hi @Frans_Devies,
