I'm on the latest Roon (2.64) and trying to search for an album with music from Sweelinck by the artist Uittenbosch. In the dropdown box the quick search shows a list of relevant results, but when I press enter, I only see results by the totally unrelated Beyonce.

This is an example for a search. I've been seeing the same odd behaviour over the past couple of days with other search queries as well.

· I'm connected to fiber Internet, TP-link router, wired setup. I can provide more details, but I'm not sure if that's helpful for this issue.

We checked the same search on our side, and Qobuz search does not seem to give out this malfunction on our side.

Could you please share a screenshot of the result you are seeing on your side?

That will help us compare what you are getting with what we are seeing here.

In the background of the image in the original post are the search results. At the top you can see the same query, and then all beyonce albums are showing.

I found out that it is not exactly repeatable. It happens once every 10 searches or so. When just pressing enter again in the search field usually gives the expected outcome. I understand this makes it hard to investigate. As there is a workaround (just search again), maybe other issues are more pressing.

Thanks for the update, it’s certainly an odd issue. It’s true it would be tough to pin this one down without in-house reproduction, and our team hasn’t been able to replicate it yet.

I’d be curious if clearing the local cache on the remote may help. Does this happen no matter the Roon remote you use?

On your mac:

  • Exit out of Roon/RoonServer (from the taskbar)
  • Find and open your Roon database
  • Navigate to /Library/RoonServer/Cache
  • Move the contents of the /Cache folder elsewhere, like your desktop
  • Try restarting Roon and verify if the issue still occurs

Are you still seeing this problem currently? Does this still occur intermittently and with any search term?

Actually, no. I did get a message saying “cannot connect to roon search” a couple of times. But that’s gone (or less) as well.
