Description of Issue

If i stream directly through qobuz on my ST 200 i have more data rate compared streaming the same song from qobuz but through roon

For example a FLAC song 16/44 is frozen at 700 kbits/sec through roon while the same going directly through qobuz it can deliver up to 900 kbits/sec (but varies during the song)

why less flow rate through roon ?
thanks in adavance

Roon is converting to PCM and sending on a clock hence the constant rate. Qobuz is sending to fill a buffer, not to a clock and so the rate varies.

thanks a lot for your quick answer.

So for you quality degradation, right ?

You said Roon is converting to PCM is there a way to avoid conversion and send directly the raw file to my Atoll ST 200 ?, or is it already the case ?

Wrong. Roon is working as designed and there is no quality degradation. More info on RAAT is here:
