Core Machine (OS and Hardware):
Intel NUC running Windows 11, hosting Roon Core.
Network Setup:
Router: ASUS ZenWiFi AX6600 (XT8) mesh system.
Core connection: Currently wired Ethernet to main XT8 router.
Bluesound devices: both on Wi-Fi (same subnet 192.168.50.x).
Audio Devices:
Two Roon Ready Bluesound speakers that Roon can see under Settings → Audio, but cannot enable — message shows “No audio devices found.”
Issue Description:
Everything was working properly until I switched my NUC from Wi-Fi → Ethernet → back to Wi-Fi.
After that, Roon began showing the speakers as visible but unselectable.
Even after reconnecting the NUC via Ethernet, Roon still refuses to play to either device.
Troubleshooting Already Tried:
Verified all devices are on same subnet (192.168.50.x).
Restarted Roon Core, Bluesound devices, and router (multiple times).
Current Behavior:
Both speakers appear under Settings → Audio.
When I attempt to “Enable” or play to them, Roon says “No audio devices found.”
Would really appreciate help getting my music back!
Helpful. Thank you. I deleted the files in Registry/Core/ but that did not help so I restored from backup. I have moved my NUC back to wifi so it is no longer attached to the XT8 via ethernet. I confirmed that QoS is OFF. The nodes are set to Wireless Router Mode. Note that this whole system worked perfectly for a couple of years. I moved to a new home and it was working fine again. I connected my NUC via ethernet to see if that would help stability. It did not. When I went back to wi-fi, this problem started. So, right now, I have two speakers that show up as “Roon Ready.” But I can’t play from either because it says, " No audio devices found." Any ideas from here?
appreciate your help on this. The fix seems to have a caused a new problem, though. I can’t access roon on my phone or my ipad now. They both say, “Waiting for your Roon Server…”
New problem: Roon Arc app on my iphone isn’t connecting now, too. It says, “Roon Server Offline”. Should I delete and reinstall the app for that too, you think?
When you restore from a Backup or otherwise remake your RoonServer, ARC’s session token goes stale; ARC is still looking for the old RoonServer, not the new one.
The solution is to just reinstall ARC, like you suggested.
The team is working on a more graceful workaround for keeping ARC connected/synced when you restore a Backup.
