Describe the issue

I have been using Roon without a problem and have enjoyed it immensely. Today, after changing a power cord on one of my power supplies, I listened to music for about an hour. I left and returned later to find the Waiting for Roon server message on my laptop. I've rebooted the server, the router and checked all connections. I also did a reinstall but Roon can't find the server. When I go to sonicorbiter, com, the sonictransporter and ultra rendu both appear but when I select the ip address for the sonictransporter, it says the site can't be reached. I'm at a loss. My setup path is: ethernet cable from router to ethernet switch; ethernet cable from ethernet switch to sonictransport i7 (files are fed to i7 via usb hdd) & to fmc; fmc to (fiber optic) optical module; ethernet cable from optical module to ultra rendu; usb from ultra rendu to dac.

Describe your network setup

My router is provided my internet provider; my ethernet swith is an English Electric 8ws

HI @Michael_McNair,
Thanks for writing in to ask us about this issue. To start troubleshooting we need to take a look at the Roon logs from your Sonic Transport. Please use the directions found here and send over a set of logs to our File Uploader.

While we are looking into your logs here are a few troubleshooting steps you can look at.

  1. Try temporarily bypassing your network switch and connecting the Sonic Transport directly to your router.
  2. I noticed that you have a Windows server active right now. Has it had any of the same issues that the Sonic Transport has?
  3. I noticed you said the Sonic Transport is unreachable including from the Sonic Orbiter site. Can you confirm with their support that there isn’t a problem with the new power supply you installed (e.g. it has the wrong specs for the Sonic Transport)?

Once we look at your logs we will be able to provide more specific guidance if none of these steps help.

Hi Daniel,

After discussing with Andrew Gillis, I’ve decided to send my i7 sonic transporter to Small Green Computer and have them take a look at it.

Thanks,
Mike
