Roon Server Endless Loop Post iOS 26.3.1 Update (ref#0VJ70N)

Hi! What’s not quite right with Roon?

· Roon is slow, freezing or won’t start

Roon is slow, freezing or won’t start

· Roon won’t start up at all

Tell us what's going on

· Running Roon Server on my MacStudio with iOS 26.3.1 (latest current). Worked fine until recent iOS update. Now Roon starts, shows the # of artists, albums etc. at the top, below a black screen with the Roon equivalent beach ball sign, showing that something happens, but it is an endless loop. Wanted then to update Roon with a fresh install from your web site, but then iOS told me that the file on my computer is more recent than the one from the download. Now how do I get Roon to work again?

Hey @Alejandro_Alcalde_Ra,

Thanks for writing in and for sharing your report!

If you haven’t yet, please stop Roon Server from the system tray on your mac, and reboot the machine.

Then, let me know if you run into the same issues. Thank you! :raising_hands:

What do you mean with system tray?

Hello @Alejandro_Alcalde_Ra

The macOS system tray, known as the Menu Bar (top right), houses status icons for system functions (Wi-Fi, battery, time) and active background applications

Hi @Alejandro_Alcalde_Ra,

Do you have a reliable Roon Backup? Please try the following, if so:

Let’s try a fresh database and see if your issues persist:

  • Exit out of Roon + RoonServer (from menu/taskbar area)
  • Navigate to your Roon Database Location
  • Delete the “Roon” and “RoonServer” folders
  • Reinstall the Roon App from our Downloads Page to generate a new Roon folder
  • Verify if the issue persists on a fresh database before restoring the backup

Here is the process outlined from a macOS machine:
