Roon Server failing to start after software update on MacOS Monterey (ref#UJKB1L)

Hi! What’s not quite right with Roon?

· None of the above quite fits

None of the above quite fits

· None of these quite match

Tell us what's going on

· When trying to open my Roon server (MacOS Monterey ver 12.7.6), it says "Waiting for your Roon Server..." If I click the "Start Roon Server" button, it eventually comes back to the same screen (about 40 seconds).

This problem started after I just updated the software that was just released. I.e., since I updated, it now doesn't work.

Tell us about your home network

· TP-Link Archer AX55 router. Unknown very old network switch (will take time to find out.) No VPN

Hello @Darryl_Kadonaga,

Thanks for the report.

After a Roon update on macOS, this behavior is most commonly resolved with a full restart of the Roon background service and the Mac itself.

Please try the following:

  1. Fully quit Roon from the macOS menu bar (make sure it’s not still running in the background)
  2. Restart your Mac
  3. After reboot, launch Roon Server first, then open the Roon app

If the server still loops back to “Waiting for your Roon Server…”, please let us know and we’ll take the next steps.

Your instructions worked after a couple of attempts. Must be the full quit that made the difference. Thanks, much appreciated!

Hello @Darryl_Kadonaga

Great to hear that did the trick :slightly_smiling_face:
