Describe your network setup

It was just an update.

Hello @leffe_e ,

Thanks for reaching out. Has it been a while since you last used Roon and are just now performing an upgrade? Can you please use these instructions to access your Roon + RoonServer logs, upload a set to the below link and let us know once uploaded? Thanks!

Hello

I had to see if I could get Roon running on a different computer than the one it doesn’t work on.

Normally it runs on an old MacMini, that’s where it stopped working. But the computer works, but not Roon. So I took my MacBook Air and tested, I had used it in 2021 when I set up Roon, but ran Roon Server on the MacMini. Now I started Roon Server on it and it seems to work, just played very little so far. The problem is that that computer is used for a lot of other things, not just for playing music. And don’t know what will happen with USB-C hub to USB-A and my DAC. Not optimal, so my wish is to be able to use the MacMini as a pure music player.

Greetings

Leif

Hello @leffe_e ,

Glad to hear that the other computer is working in the meantime. You can try to reinstall Roon fresh on the non-working computer by setting the previous database aside. You can use the below instructions to give this a try and see if it clears the issue up.

Let’s try a fresh database and see if your issues persist:

  • Create a Backup of your current database
  • Exit out of Roon + RoonServer (from taskbar area)
  • Navigate to your Roon Database Location
  • Find the folder that says “Roon Server” and “Roon”
  • Rename the “RoonServer” folder to “RoonServer_old” and “Roon” to “Roon_old”
  • Reinstall the Roon App from our Downloads Page to generate a new Roon folder
  • Verify if the issue persists on a fresh database before restoring the backup
