Hi @Stephen_Harding, have you tried clicking on “Select a different Roon Server”?
This often helps to re-establish comms.
If not nothing is lost and Roon’s support team will be along to help.

Hello @Stephen_Harding,

Losing the connection to your Roon Server right after a simple reboot is definitely frustrating! Let’s get your iOS device talking to your server again.

First, @Carl is spot on. Clicking “Select a different Roon Server” on the connection screen of your Roon app is an excellent first step. It forces the app to drop its cached connection attempt and scan your network fresh for the server.

If that doesn’t immediately bring your server back up, the issue is likely tied to how iOS handles local network permissions. Sometimes, a server reboot causes the router to refresh the connection, and the iOS device needs a quick permission reset to “see” it again.

How to refresh iOS Local Network access

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
  2. Scroll down and tap on Privacy & Security (or just Privacy on older iOS versions).
  3. Tap on Local Network.
  4. Find Roon in the list of apps.
  5. Toggle it OFF, wait a few seconds, and then toggle it back ON to force a refresh.

Would you let me know if refreshing that iOS network permission and following Carl’s tip to select a different server successfully reconnects you?

Hi it’s back thanks! I refreshed my iOS device and restarted it on my sonictransporter i5 and it worked! Now I just have to get Roon ARC working! Thanks again
