· I have a desktop PC that I setup to run as a roon server. I integrated it with Control 4, but can't get it to work or see zones in the dropdown on c4. On the c4 core driver it says roon core update required.

Hello @technicians,

Thank you for the details.

The message “Roon Core update required” in the Control4 driver typically indicates a version mismatch or an integration issue between the Control4 Roon driver and the Roon Core currently running on your PC.

To help us narrow this down, could you please provide the following information:

  1. Roon Core version
  • Go to Roon → Settings → About and confirm the exact version/build number
  1. Control4 Roon driver
  • Which Roon driver are you using in Control4 (official Control4 driver or third-party)?
  • Driver version number
  1. Zones in Roon
  • Do you see active and enabled zones in Roon → Settings → Audio?
  • Are those zones playable directly from the Roon app?
  1. Control4 discovery
  • Is the Control4 controller on the same subnet as the Roon Core?
  • Are there any VLANs, firewall rules, or network segmentation in place?
  1. Recent changes
  • Was Roon or the Control4 driver recently updated?
  • Did this setup ever work previously, or is this a new installation?

If possible, please also confirm whether playback works normally from the Roon app itself. That will help determine whether the issue is specific to the Control4 integration or related to Roon Core availability on the network.
