Roon Server Kills Internet Connection

Hi all,

Today I did some maintenance on my Mac Mini Roon server:

  1. Updated to Mac OS Sequoia
  2. Renamed the Mini to ‘Roon Server’

Since then the Mini appears to be kicked off the Internet* when the Roon server starts up. Quitting Roon server doesn’t fix it - only restarting the Mini appears to fix it (temporarily)

*it clearly has no internet connection, even though:

  1. In the ‘Network’ settings, it shows green and ‘connected’ to Ethernet (direct cable to TP-Link router)
  2. Mini shows as connected client in router admin UI

Any idea what’s going on here?
Cheers,
Ingo

@Ingo_Weiss, are you stating that the mini has no internet connection (e.g., using a browser on it to check out a website), or that the Roon client application does not connect to the Roon Server on the mini?

The former, i.e. the mini loses internet connection

Turn cloud relay and private network off.

Thank you @MarcMarc. Are those Roon settings or Mac OS settings? I am having trouble finding them

MacOS settings.

Ok I found “Cloud relay” and it is off. Where do I find “Private Network”?

While I was at it I removed a bunch of software from the machine that isn’t needed for Roon Server, and now the problem appears fixed (fingers crossed). No idea exactly what fixed it

¯_(ツ)_/¯
Ingo

Thanks for your help @MarcMarc !
