I have a roon server setup on a mac mini m2, as [moderated - email address removed]. Its been working for ~ one year. I added a user to my mac, and I want to manage the server as that new user. I logged out of the roon server and out of mac. I then logged in to the mac as the new user [moderated - email address removed]. I then attempted to log into roon as [moderated - email address removed]. That failed. Next I tried logging in as the new user, after ensuring that the server was not running. Failure. After the captcha I received an error saying I was already logged in. Using the activity monitor, I could seen that a roon server was already running. It started immediately upon opening roon, during the login attempt. I tried logging into the roon server as prior user - tipbizz. Same failure.
Describe your network setup
This problem is all running on one mac mini. When I can log into the server, the music works properly
Are you using Sequoia? If so, have you changed Settings > Privacy & Security > Local Network to ‘Allow’ Roon (slide blue ‘switch’ to right) access to your Local Networks for this user?
@tipbizz - I’ve removed your private email addresses from your post - it’s not a good idea to have them visible on a public forum. The support team will contact you via private messages if they need to have details.
Thanks for removing my private addresses.
I did have the local access set to ‘Allow’. I double checked. I resolved the situation by creating another account, with a new user. My library was easy to specify, so I confirmed all my music was on the new roon server, without any further account shenanigans. I will cancel my old subscription and just go with the new one, that works the way I want.
