Describe the issue

I have a lifetime Roon subscription from January 2017 working perfectly on the same HP PC - previously updated by me to Win 10 Pro. After the Login to a new Asus PC Roon server there is a Roon message that my subscription is for one Roon server and I should Logout from the HP PC Server. As I see the moving Roon procedure is not robust enough for some reason because Logout is not working for me. It is probably connected with previously moving Roon to a new Mac M4 mini without removing Music Library SSD from HP PC, getting in result the same two Roon Server account message. I cleaned the Roon Library on Mac M4 mini and bought the Asus Win 11 PC in order to establish the moving procedure in the most simple and straight forward way. I think that it will be a real issue for Roon when the big migration from Win 10 to Win 11 will start before the October 2025.

Describe your network setup

WIFI network for HP Elite PC Win 10, Asus PC Expert Center PC Win 11 and new Apple iPad mini through Bezek service Provider Be Fiber Router, where two Servers are shown on the same WIFI network that can be switched to Apple AirPort router network. It worked perfectly for a single HP PC Server.

Hello @Moshe_Amster and welcome to the forum.

Does the following document answer your question(s)?

If not, can you describe your issue in more detail please? In what way does unauthorizing your old Roon server not work for you?

Hello @Moshe_Amster

Welcome to the Roon Community!

Thank you for your detailed message. I understand how frustrating it can be to run into these issues, especially when you’re trying to migrate to a new setup.

It sounds like you’re encountering the limitation of having only one active Roon Server per subscription, which is indeed expected behavior. Fortunately, another community member has already pointed you in the right direction with some helpful resources. I’d like to highlight them here for your convenience:

1. Understanding your Roon subscription and server limits:

2. Proper steps for migrating your Roon Server to a new device:

Please make sure you’re following the migration steps carefully, including unauthorizing the previous Roon Core before authorizing the new one. If you’re having trouble unauthorizing the old Core, could you let us know exactly what happens when you try? Any error messages or behavior details will help us investigate further.

Hello Vadim,

Thanks for your comprehensive reply including unauthorizing suggestion, which worked immediately.

I read now the first article about Roon subscriptions.
Actually Roon prompted to Logout from previous installation,

Can my Roon subscription be used in more than one location?

Yes! If you only have one Roon subscription, you can simply log in to Roon at any location, and Roon will prompt you to unauthorize the previously active installation.

Hello @Moshe_Amster.
