Roon server no longer discoverable

For the last five days or so my Roon App can’t find my server. When I open the server (which is hosted on a Mac Mini), the audio output doesn’t list my H190 as an end point anymore and only lists “System Output” (see photo)

I’ve happily used it for a year with no (well few) problems! So far I have;

  1. Reset the Roon Server
  2. Shut down the Roon server, the router and the amp. Then turned them back on.
  3. I can use Spotify airplay to play through the H190 donuts definitely still connected to the network.
  4. The server shows me that another wireless speaker connected to the network is available, so again I don’t think the network is the problem.

I am of course running all the latest versions of all software and firmware.

Really stuck on this one so I’d be grateful for any thoughts!

Hello @Alexander_Cobb ,

Thanks for reaching out to let us know. What version of macOS are you using? The behavior you’re seeing may be consistent with the newer, stricter Local Network permission controls in the recent macOS releases.

Please try the following steps:

  1. Open macOS System Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network
  2. Make sure Roon and Roon Server are both enabled
  3. Even if they are already enabled, please toggle them off and back on
  4. Fully quit Roon Server from the macOS menu bar / task bar
  5. Reboot your Mac
  6. After reboot, launch Roon again and check if the devices is avaliable again.

Once these permissions are refreshed and the system restarted, your audio devices should reappear.

Please let us know if the issue persists after these steps, and we’ll continue from there.

Thank you! How strange that this worked when I hadn’t done anything to the Mac!
