Hi @alphaecontractors,

Roon and ARC will usually attempt to automatically configure remote access by negotiating directly with your router. Sometimes this fails, and you have to set up port forwarding manually.

Do you see a “Not Ready” indicator in Roon Settings → ARC?

If you have an ISP-provided router other than the Microtik you mentioned above, you’ll need to either 1) please it in Bridge mode or 2) enable UPnP.

Sometimes, UPnP will fail across two routers. In that case, you’ll need to create a manual port forwarding rule in your router settings admin page for any active router (the rule should be identical in both routers).

Usually, this will be in the port forwarding or firewall section of your router settings page. Create a TCP-protocol port forwarding rule using the port number and IP address listed in Roon Settings → ARC.

In the even that you still can’t connect outside your home network with ARC, your internet service provider might be blocking port forwarding at the infrastructural level. You’ll need to set up Tailscale instead of port forwarding.

Here are instructions for both the port forwarding setup and the Tailscale alternative.

Please let us know if this helps.
