I had a BOXNUC8i7BEH Intel NUC working with Roon as server since several years ago. Suddenly it got broken (motherboard fired) and I could find an exact NUC model as the old one. I’ve just insert the old hard Drive and the RAM memories, thinking that it should be enough to make it works as plug & play….but the server isn’t found by my iPad. Can you help? Many thanks in advance and best regards. Alex
Describe your network setup
My Home network start with last model of Movistar router, connected to a HUB and Switch with 25 points that send Internet and Home network to all ethernet points along the house. My Music is into a Synology NAS DS412+ with 4 6tbs HDs including a very extense Music collection. All that is into my prívate office, and the Music is sent trough ethernet cable to my dedicated Music room, where my Linn Akurate DS3 plays the Music choosen with my iPad as remote.
What OS are you running on your NUC? Windows, Linux or RoonOS (ROCK)?
Firstly, have you connected your new NUC to a monitor or a TV? If so, do you see the Roon Server booting? If it is running RoonOS (ROCK) then you should see some text including the network status (ip address if everything is working).
If you don’t see the OS booting with the monitor attached, then maybe the BIOS is set wrong on the new NUC. Maybe your drive was installed for BIOS boot and your new NUC is set to use UEFI boot (or vice-versa) in which case the OS will not boot. Try entering the BIOS (you will need to connect a USB keyboard as well as a TV/Monitor) and checking the boot settings. It they are set to UEFI boot, try setting them to BIOS boot (legacy boot). If set to BIOS boot, try setting them to UEFI boot.
Post photographs/screen shots of what you see on the NUC monitor.
