What happens if you choose “Select a different Roon Server”?

Hello Robert, I get a msg indicating that the Libraries and customizations associated with the Server will be lost. I have about 3k recordings so was hesitant to select that option.

Thanks.
Jonathan

That’s a warning of what will happen if you choose a different Roon Server with a different database.

What we are suggesting is to see if clicking that link will show your existing Roon Server - and connecting to that will not of course lose your existing library and customisations.

Attaching the msg when I select search for a Roon server; in essence it just spins. What is the name of the Roon service? Can it be started at like a command line?

Thanks,
Jonathan

I checked my W11 Roon Server PC and from Task Manager I see RAATserver.exe, RoonServer.exe, and RoonAppliance.exe are all running. Can you confirm if these are running on your Roon Server PC?

Checked my windows’ task mngr and none of those services are running, just roon.exe which I believe is the application.

Thanks,
Jonathan

Try downloading the Roon software package from the Roon web site and installing it.

https://roon.app/en/downloads

I found on one of my Windows PCs that the Update seemed to just update the Roon UI component, it did not install a running Roon Server. Downloading and installing Roon from the web site fixed that for me.

That did the trick Geoff and didn’t lose any library or configuration settings (that i can tell). Thanks for your input and assistance.
