Roon Server not running after latest software upgrade (ref#5FG5QM)

Hi! What’s not quite right with Roon?

· None of the above quite fits

None of the above quite fits

· None of these quite match

Tell us what's going on

· After latest software upgrade notice tells me Roon Server is not running

Tell us about your home network

· EERO router provided by Metronet

And what happens when you hit “select a different Roon Server”.

Don’t worry about any warnings. This should then present you with a list of available servers that can be see on your network.

Sometimes Roon can get “confused” as to Server status after updates.

I tried your suggestion. The only things showing up are my Mac and a select button option.

I don’t use for anything fancy. Normally, its start the Mac, then Roon and it connects…normally. I’ve tried restarting the Mac mini, reconnecting the DAC via USB…nothing.

What machine is your Roon Server located on?

It’s on my Mac mini.

If Roon Server is on the Mac, have you used the Start Roon Server button?

Many, many, many times.

Normally, the Roon logo comes up with moving lines which indicates searching. Then normally the logo for my Project DAC comes up, then I find what I want to listen to , then off and running.

Do you know what version of macOS your Mac mini is running as minimum requirement to run Roon has changed.

“Even if your Mac Mini is running a version like macOS 12.7.6—which technically sits at the absolute bare minimum requirement”

That’s a quote lifted from another thread but it’s really the absolute minimum system required.

Monterey 12.7.6

I went back and tried the select server and NOW its working…on third try. Many thanks for the help. Not sure what I did but…maybe it’s time for a new computer.

That’s great news.

We will call it resolved for now but yes I would agree it’s high time to start researching a new Roon Server :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

I’ll start looking.

Is there a link to the best Roon Server?

You could upgrade the OS to a newer version using OpenCore Legacy Patcher.
