I originally use Roon Desktop on a windows 11 pro on an Asus Zenbook. When I was going to listen to my system today, I keep getting blocked at the page "Waiting for Roon server..." " Your Roon Server doesn't seem to be running." How can that be if my own computer acts as a Roon server? How can I access my library again to listen to music? thank you very much in advance. Lucas
Describe your network setup
Simple Wifi router. Vivo smart wifi ( a proprietary 5Ghz wifi router from the company Vivo)
It’s not impossible that it crashed or wasn’t started on boot for some reason. The Roon Server is a separate process that runs independently of the GUI control app.
What happens if you click the Start Roon Server button?
If this doesn’t help, click the gray “Select a different Roon Server” link below the button. Sometimes the GUI app gets confused about which server it should connect to. If you click the link, it will tell you that disconnecting from the current server means that you can’t access the music on this server. This is OK, approve it. Then it will show a list of all Roon Servers that it can find on the network, which probably is only your usual one. Select it and it normally will connect.
Let us know if this does not help and what happens then
Hi, thank you very much for the quick reply. Didn’t try the grey option cause I thought that I would lose all my configuration. Just clicked it and chose to “Use this PC as Roon Server”. It loaded a bit and returned to the same exact page in the screenshot =(. Any ideas now?
Hi @Lucas_Reis,
Since that didn’t work it’s likely that your server itself has crashed or not started. Exit out of the Roon client and restart it and that should get the server running again. When the Roon server is running you’ll be able to see it in the taskbar on the bottom right.
