Hello @hans31m and welcome to the forum.

What is the MacOS version?

The Mac book is a little bit older with version 12.7.6

So the OS version should be sufficient. Can you please elaborate on the Roon not starting part? Does nothing happen, does a window get opened where you get stuck or something else?

Thanks for your support. Starting Roon a window is opening with the information: waiting for the roon server. But waiting is no solution. A new start of Roon generates the same result.

Looks like your Roon Server is not running for some reason.
Official support may have to look into this. They are back in office on Monday.

Do you have a Roon icon on the notification area of the Mac menu bar?

Did you restart the Mac?

If restarting doesn’t help and the Roon icon on the menu bar never appears:

You can try starting the Roon Server separately: Go to Finder > Applications, find the Roon app and right-click it to open the context menu, click Show Package Contents in the menu, go to the Contents folder. You should find the Roon Server launcher there.

Then go to the Roon icon that should now be visible on the menu bar. Click it and make sure that Launch at Startup is checked.

If it still doesn’t work, I’d try reinstalling the Roon app from Roon’s download page

Yesterday, I told you that waiting for the Roon server was the problem. OK, I waited the whole night long, i.e after my wake-up this morning I checked my MacBook again and I was surprised that the the start page of Roon was displayed and really I could use it. Additional information: I already reinstalled the Roon app before I started the communication in this community. Nevertheless, today I made several tests of starting Roon and restarting the system, too. When the Roon display appeared there was the addittional window: “Roon, Fatal Error, Could not create required lock file”. But after a few seconds without any action by myself Roon could be used anyhow. After some more tests of stopping and restarting there is no confusing information anymore. I hope this will be the successful end of this problem. Thank you!
