Roon server not working on Mac Air anymore (ref#D8DBF0)

Network Setup

· Do you have a mesh network? (Google Mesh, Eeros, Ubiquiti, etc.)

ARC Status

· ARC is *Ready*

Describe the issue

It says my server doesn't work for roon. I don't have Nucleus, I've always used my Mac Air. Never had issues. Do I now need a Nucleus?

Frontier internet with Google Mesh network and my Mac

Hi @tcouluris,

Thank you for your report. Provided you still have sufficient RAM for your library size and are using a supported version of MacOS, you shouldn’t have any issues opening the server.

Can you please share a screenshot here of the error message you’re encountering?

Hi @tcouluris,

According to our diagnostic servers (which activate for your account upon submission of this tech support request), the affected Roon Server instance has been online since you first posted.

Are we correct in assuming that you’ve resolved this issue behind the scenes?

Relying on WiFi for your Roon Server can sometimes introduce connectivity issues, depending on your network’s multicast handling and WiFi topology. We have a few recommendations for how best to configure your network here that you can review to ensure stability long-term:

Connor, this is the error I receive… I can’t get Roon to play. This just happened out of the blue about two weeks ago. Could it be my Mac? Do I need to get a Nucleus?

Thanks for any assistance you can offer.

Hey @tcouluris,

Thanks for the update and for your screenshot! This is odd - from your screenshot, we can see the Roon jellyfish in the upper right-hand taskbar on your mac.

If you click the jellyfish, does it show Roon Server running? It would look like:

Have you rebooted the machine itself?

We’ll be monitoring for your reply, thank you! :folded_hands:
