ROON server on a dedicated NUC running W10 - Roon server stops after a number of days

Dear Roon team / users,

Before I start, I realise this is more of a NUC (actually most probably W10) question than a Roon question, but has anyone else seen this behaviour with Roon?..

Roon server is running without issue in W10, on a (semi-headless) Roon-dedicated NUC. After several days the Roon server stops (and all my Roon end-ponts obviously then can’t connect) and I have to head back to the NUC (reconnect screen, keyboard etc) to restart it (Roon). I’vew had a good dig in windows but can’t find a fix. The NUC is on ethernet.

I realise that the proper answer is to install ROCK (which I plan to do when I have more time) but in the meantime, I’d like to find and fix this issue. Any thoughts welcome. Thanks.

Do you have your Roon Server set to “Launch at startup”? If not, then I wonder if a Windows Update is doing a reboot and Roon Server doesn’t start up as a result…

Thank you, that’s a good idea - I checked and the shortcut to Roon server wasn’t in the startup folder, so I have added it. I think the issue is why roon server is stopping, but as you say, that would be a reason. Let’s see!
