· I use my Mac as a Roon Server. Every time there is an update, Roon can no longer find any of my other devices. Usually, it starts working again after a short while. However, this time it doesn’t seem to be recovering. I need help resolving this issue.

Thank you for your post. As others mentioned above, macOS 27 Golden Gate restricts Roon’s network access at the OS level because it falsely flags the Roon application bundle as a threat.
The team is working on a solution to restore device discovery on Mac-hosted RoonServer machines. We’ll announce this broadly on Roon Community as soon as it’s finalized.
In the meantime, there’s an unfortunately circutious (but effective) workaround you’ll need to take, outlined at the link@Suedkiez shared above.
This requires a few Terminal commands to reestablish Roon’s connection with the loopback ethernet interface. Since it’s deep at the OS level, you can’t take these steps within system settings or within Roon alone.
We released a hotfix, so please update to the latest Roon build and see whether that restores endpoint discovery. The hotfix notes are here: Roon 2.73.1 hotfix is live. Let us know how that goes!
Unfortunately the problem seems to persist as I also have the “Waiting for your Roon Server…” window and no connection to the server itself. I am going to try the above link/workarounds in hopes that they work, but in the meantime this is super frustrating.
Update - So things are running again for the time being by manually restarting the Roon Server.
Is this step necessary every time I want to start Roon until a new patch fixes this?
We released a hotfix that should help with this, so please update to the latest Roon build and let us know whether the behavior is the same after that.
The hotfix notes are here: Roon 2.73.1 hotfix is live. If the issue continues after updating, we can pick it up from there.
Thanks for your patience and apologies for the delay. A few items after reviewing logs:
Diagnostics indicate that multiple network interfaces are active on the server machine. Depending on the order in which RoonServer sees these as it starts up, it might lock onto a network interface not in use by the GUI. We generally recommend restricting the machine to a single network interface by disabling WiFi.
Our cloud diagnostic servers can’t see the iOS Roon Remote instance you’ve mentioned in your posts. What is the iOS version you’re using on that phone? Which Roon build is installed on the phone?
Thanks for responding and for the help, but I don’t think I understand this fully. specifically the “multiple network interfaces detected” as I am running on my home computer and only have the one network connection… are you saying I need to turn off Wi-Fi on my Mac Studio (which is also my server) to get a stable connection? You also ask about my phone and iOS I am running, but I never mentioned a phone here. I am trying to get a stable “always on” connection with my Mac Studio (desktop) machine.
To be clear I restarted my server manually as recommended originally a couple days ago and this far it has been working for the last three days as such…
