Welcome to the community, @gasgnys

Roon on NAS is no longer supporter because QNAP is shipped with very old versions glibc and SSL.

Consequently, you’ll need to install the new containerised version of Roon server using QNAP Container Station.

Please read the following Release Note and Help Guides, and shout out if you have any questions.

Hello @gasgnys,

Welcome to the community! And thanks @mjw - that’s exactly right.

The native QNAP package is no longer supported, and the way forward is the official Roon Server Docker image running in Container Station. The guide linked above walks you through the whole setup, and the configuration generator will build the exact docker run or compose command for your TS-264.

One practical tip before you start: don’t remove the native Roon package just yet - we want to keep your old database in place as a fallback. Once the container is up and you’ve signed in, restore your library from your most recent Roon backup via Settings → Backups. If you don’t have a recent backup available, let us know and we’ll help you migrate the database from the old install.

If you hit any snags along the way, just post here and we’ll pick it up.

Thanks!

Hey @gasgnys,

Just checking in on this. Have you had a chance to move forward with the QNAP Docker setup in Container Station using the official Roon Server image, and did you keep the native package installed for now so your old database stays available as a fallback? Once the container is running, we also wanted to confirm whether you were able to restore from your most recent Roon backup in Settings → Backups, or whether you need help migrating the database from the old install. Please reply with any updates or questions.
