Describe the issue

I have an app called fing. It always says roon is online even when I disconnect the server and unplug the lan. Is this normal behavior? My remotes all of a sudden can't connect?

Describe your network setup

Been here before nothing out of the ordinary

My remote had waiting for roon server, then choose roon server, then looking for roon server. Then it shows choose your roon server and it has found it and has rock with the purple connect tab! It’s gone and back to waiting? Is this a network problem, not fast enough speed?

Hey @Marc_Lewis,

Thanks for writing in!

My apologies for the confusion, but are you asking specifically about the app/software fing?

If you disconnect your server, your remotes will lose connection - that’s the expected behavior. In regards to your ROCK still showing as being online via Fing, this is something you’ll want to ask Fing directly, as we don’t communication or touch this within Roon itself.

If you’re having connection issues between your Roon remotes while your Roon Server on your ROCK is connected and active, then this is a separate issue we’d be happy to troubleshoot.

A recent diagnostic report from your ROCK shows a network error:

Warn: [devicedb] While refreshing, status: 999, body: System.Net.WebException: Network is unreachable (172.67.14.113:443)

Can you triple confirm all your devices are on ths same subnet? The above error typically indicates otherwise. That, and blockages due to firewall restrictions. It may be worth reviewing your firewall exceptions on your remote devices as well as on your ROCK:

(an easy way to test firewall issues is to temporarily disable the firewall on the device, and see if your issues persist)

We’ll be on standby for your reply! :+1:

Yesterday it would not connect and today it has! I assume my network was the problem. I didn’t have any issue elsewhere in my home, just with roon. Now it’s back up. I didn’t do anything other than wait overnight!
