If you are running Roon on your Mac under Sequoia, have you followed all the recent threads about going into your privacy and security settings to allow Roon to access network shares, etc.?
Welcome to the forum. If you are not able to connect to the NAS at all, and it sounds like you used the correct parameters, then I would try to see if the NAS web configuration provides any option about Samba (SMB) shares, and make sure that the setting is turned on.
