Hi, after several years away I decided to give roon another go mainly due to their 11 week offer for £1. But having updated ver 2.66 on my qnap nas Roon server says its stopped even though it says its correctly installed. My question is how do I restart it? Jon
Hello @Jonathan_Waugh, and welcome to the forum.
The native Roon Server package no longer works on QNAP, so please switch to the official Docker image to run Roon Server on your NAS.

Hi, thank you for your prompt response. Ive had a look at the docker installation and tbh dont really understand how it worjs and what I would need to do to get it working on my Qnap nas. Any suggestions that would help a leyman get his head around it would be much appreciated.
I’m retired electronic engineer so have some tech knowledge but this currebtly has me flumoxed!

You basically need another app (called ´Container Station´) to run the new roon server application in a folder, like its compartmented environment. Container Station will do the install for you, once you feed it with a script file containing all the information, which you can generate following the Github link in roonlabs manual. Only thing: you need to predefine the location of the container folder, and the folder paths for music library and backups, and that is a bit different from NAS to NAS.
If you need help with defining paths, feel free to share screenshots of your folder hierarchy in File Station. The installation is straightforward if you follow roonlabs´ guidelines, here is an alternative link explaining things with some screenshots:

Sadly I’m not making any headway with this. I’m not sure how to fill out the docker genreater with my nas detsils and where my music library is.
Feel free to share a screenshot of the top level folder hierarchy in File Station (like /Multimedia and /Container). You know in which one your music is located? Usually this is called /Multimedia or /Music oder /Multimedia/Music
It might also be helpful to know which volume is SSD and which is magnetic HDD, in case you have several of them. Reason being, the roon container should be on SSD (ideally the whole /Container folder as well).
