Roon server stuck on 'Rescanning files' after update (ref#2NA3S6)

Hi! What’s not quite right with Roon?

Tell us what's going on

· After today’s latest update, my Roon server gets stuck on “Rescanning files.” It says it is rescanning four files to update the metadata, but it gets stuck on file 1 and the scan indicator keeps spinning all day. This is probably due to a corrupted file, but there is nowhere to see which file it is getting stuck on.

Thanks for writing in and for sharing your report! We were able to review diagnostics for your Roon Server and saw the following errors in local files:

/Volumes/Muziek Disk/Muziek/2006/bonobo - dial 'm' for monkey (2003)/(08)_nothing_owed.mp3, decstatus: ErrorCorrupt

/Volumes/Muziek Disk/Muziek/2006/bonobo - dial 'm' for monkey (2003)/(08)_nothing_owed.mp3': CorruptFile

Volumes/Muziek Disk/Muziek/2006/bonobo - dial 'm' for monkey (2003)/(04)_change_down.mp3, decstatus: ErrorCorrupt

/Volumes/Muziek Disk/Muziek/Anna/disco/various_artists--xxx_disco/900_lipps_inc.--3403-(lippsinc)-mtma1-funkytown.mp3, decstatus: ErrorCorrupt

It may be worth using a third-party service to scan the health of your files. Most times, analysis software can also repair issues with your files.

Thanks, that was the information I was looking for. Where can I find this, in case something similar happens in the future?

Same problem here. No trouble until the last update. The update also hung my Macmini m4 that is running the core.

It seems to have resolved itself overnight.

Stuck on ‘Rescanning files’ on macOS 26.3 after the last update also. No music files have been added for over a month.

I had the issue but it has been resolved with the latest update that came out today!
