· I am having trouble updating my Roon Server running on iMac. Roon server keeps getting stuck on "Downloading" status but never completes the update. Tried multiple times with rebooting of machine.

A Roon client running on a Macbook Pro was able to finish the update successfully.

Server Configuration:

Hardware: iMac M4 with 16GB RAM
MacOS: Sequoia 15.6.1
Network: Wired 1GBps Ethernet
Current Roon Version: 2.6.7 (build 1661)

Hi @agentsmith,

This can sometimes occur for a few reasons:

  1. network security is limiting Roon Server’s network connection. Double-checkt that local network access is toggled on for Roon in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network

  2. the DNS service selected in your router is failing to resolve the download URL for the Roon update. It’s worth checking in your router settings whether a reliable DNS service is configured; we recommend Cloudflare (1.1.1.1.)

Reboot RoonServer after taking these steps and see if you’re able to manually force the download in Settings → About.

If you’re still not able to update let us know and we’ll proceed with next steps.

Thank you!

Hi Connor,

Thanks for your quick response.

Actually the problem is solved, turned out I had VPN running in the background. Once I turned VPN off it went through with the update to 2.70 successfully.

J

Hello @agentsmith,

Glad to hear it resolved - VPN interference with downloads is a common one to watch out for. Thanks for sharing the solution, it may help others in a similar situation!
