Roon Server will not load after upgrade

I am piggy-backing here. I hope to get help. I had my i5 Sonic Transporter upgraded to v.2.9 by Small Green Computer(for Tailscale addition). Now Roon Server will not load.

The Sonic Transporter and micro rendu player are visible in Sonic Orbiter.
I have tried rebooting these.
Windows 10 laptop as Roon remote (Wifi)
Verizon G3100 router
Ethernet cables to ethernet switch > Sonic Transport > micro rendu > USB DAC > amp
I too am a novice at this; any help greatly appreciated.

Hi @David_Bollinger,
Thanks for writing in to ask about this. I’ve split this off into it’s own thread to make sure it doesn’t get lost. If you are having an issue the best practice is to start your own thread. Often even though your symptoms may be similar to what another user is experiencing differences in your individual set up will mean that the cause or solution is different.

If you click the “Select a different Roon Server” button does your server appear on the list? We can see from logging that your server was active today with no obvious errors.

Thanks, Daniel. Sorry for the bother. I should have started a single thread.

It’s not an issue :slightly_smiling_face:. Lots of people make the same mistake. That’s why I just wanted to take a moment to let you know how best to get help. Having this as its own topic gets it into our tracking system so it won’t get lost.

Were you able to check this?

Hmm, I’m signed in but there is no music in my library and none of my settings. Sorry about this,

Here’s where I started.

Don’t see the button

Yes, I logged in okay. Looks like I lost my live radio stations  but that’s fixable. I’m continually impressed with your service.

It does appear along with my iMac

daniel,
can you help with this? see picture. windows can’t access sonictransport. I usually dragged and dropped downloaded music there. I guess i need help setting up a folder for Roon to watch for new music.
Thanks,
Dave

Hey @David_Bollinger,

Interesting that updating your Sonictransport led to your existing database to disappear  David, do you by chance have a saved Roon backup available? This would be your quickest method to restore your previous library and settings.

Access your Roon Settings>Backup>Find Backups and let me know if that helps :+1:

benjamin,
sorry, i spoke too soon. i lost all my personal radio stations and the downloaded music i transferred to Roon from other sources, e.g. bandcamp. these are minor setbacks.
i thought i had set up automatic backups, but alas, i couldn’t find any. so, i turned on backups again to be stored in dropbox.
my library albums, playlists are intact.
thank you for responding.
DB
