Roon Server won't start after latest update on Roon Rock (ref#1JKSEA)

Is Roon Server running?

· No, Roon Server is not running.

For Roon connectivity to work properly, both Roon Server and Roon Remote need to be turned on.

· I can't turn on Roon Server, I need help.

Describe the issue

I updated my Roon Rock to the latest update today and Roon server will no longer start up, my intel Nuc is up and running (OS) but Roon Server software won’t run. I’ve tried rebooting and reinstalling

Describe your network setup

Connected via Ethernet, modem/router is Draytek 3910

I’m on early access and I see the same. However, despite the web admin page saying the server software isn’t running, I’m still able to connect to it and play music…

Hey @Baljinder_Singh,

Thanks for writing in! To confirm, are you able to connect to your Server normally, even though the webUI is showing your server not started?

If so, this is a known issue with the recent update that our team is already on the cusp of releasing a fix for. Here is the tracking thread:

Let me know if this is the same case for you. Thank you!

I’ve tried to just connect but no joy

Just to update, I still cannot connect via IOS app for Roon (I updated this and Rock at the same time)

I can access the server via Arc and my PC both which were NOT updated (Roon) today (both say an update is awaiting relaunch, which I won’t be doing)

Hi @Baljinder_Singh,

According to our diagnostics servers, the Roon Server instance hosted on this ROCK is currently online and responding to log requests. The server instance appears to be healthy.

Can you please verify that you’ve set Private WiFi to “Fixed” in your iOS Settings under WiFi Details? We need to verify you’re not encountering an iOS-specific connectivity issue after updating. The broader symptom of the RoonOS WebUI displaying that the server is offline is a known issue:

We’ll watch for your reply.
