· I am loading for the first time on my mac mini as the server. It keeps going in a round robin, login to the app, login to the website, then login to the all, then the website.
This “round-robin” behavior between the app and the website is usually caused by a few specific sync or network issues.
Since you are setting up your Mac Mini as a server, please try the following steps:
Check System Time: This is the most common culprit. Go to System Settings > General > Date & Time on your Mac Mini. Ensure "Set date and time automatically" is ON. If the clock is off by even a minute, the security tokens will fail.
Clear Browser Cache / Change Default Browser: Sometimes your default browser blocks the "callback" that tells the Roon app you’ve successfully logged in. Try clearing your browser's cookies/cache for roonlabs.com or temporarily set a different browser (like Chrome or Firefox) as your default before trying to log in again.
Verizon Fios Firewall: Verizon routers sometimes have "Home Network Protection" or aggressive firewall settings that interfere with Roon's authentication. Try temporarily disabling any "Security" or "Firewall" features in your router settings to see if it clears the loop.
The "Database Reset" (If the above fails): 1. Quit Roon. 2. Go to ~/Library/RoonServer on your Mac Mini. 3. Rename the folder RoonServer to RoonServer_old. 4. Relaunch Roon and try logging in again. This creates a fresh database.
If none of this works, it might be worth checking if you have any VPNs or Ad-blockers (like NextDNS or Pi-hole) running on your network, as they often block the authorization pings.
I did have a VPN running, I disabled it. After that:
Check System Time items are OK
Clear Browser Cache / Change Default Browser: It was defaulted to Safari, made Chrome the default and cleared both cookies/Caches.
Verizon FIOS Firewall: IPv4 and IPv6 settings were on Normal (High, Normal, Low were the options)
Still got the Round Robin, so I did the Database Reset. When rerunning Roon, it locked on the loading screen (image below). I closed it manually. It looks like all the info was built, but I still get the round robin.
