Roon skips files that are imported and play in Apple Music
Roon runs on Intel Mac running iOS 15.2
What format are they in?
Looks like not supported as it says but curious as to what exact format they are.
Like for instance Roon does not support WMA files
ALAC.
I imported 3 discs in an album. Apple Music plays them. But Roon only sees 2 of the 3 discs and skips the last one.
Well Roon reads alac files normally just fine, obviously there is something a little different with the disc it’s skipping.
I know it’s a bit of a pain but you could try converting that disc to flac with something like db Poweramp just as a test.
If nobody else has a solution of course.
Well, the files play fine in Apple Music. Just skipped being read by Roon.
Sorry I have no further ideas myself.
See what anyone else comes up with.
There has to be something different with that disc for Roon to decide they are unsupported?
I just reimported the entire 3 disc set using error correction and Roon skipped all files, not just one disc. Yet the files play just fine in Apple Music.

Music downloaded from Apple Music is encrypted and cannot be played back by Roon, only by the Apple Music app. This is different from music that you buy from the iTunes Music Store, which can be played with almost any software.
However, if you downloaded these as purchased files from nugs.net, I don’t have much of an explanation for you…
It’s a CD I bought from nugs.net that I imported into Apple Music. I’ve imported thousands of CD’s (including a couple of others from nugs.net) into Apple Music as ALAC files that Roon has no issue reading. Except this one.
I converted the ALAC files to FLAC keeping them in the same folder in iTunes so Apple Music can play the ALAC versions.
Roon is able to read and categorize the FLAC versions. But this is the first time I have had to add FLAC versions of ALAC files for Roon to read them.

I uploaded 3 sample ALAC files that Roon is not reading. Roon does read these files when converted to FLAC.
