Based on your symptoms, there are two separate issues you’re reporting in this thread.
The first issue relates to networking, both DNS and Zone stability. Roon is receiving standby commands at unexpected times and device discovery isn’t succeeding. Tidal track URLs are failing to resolve in time and Roon Server has to request them again, which sometimes introduces enough latency to break playback.
You’ve already re-assigned the DNS service, so that’s a solid step. Next, can you confirm the following?
Which Zones are connecting via WiFi?
Have you tried disabling Smart WiFi in the PlusNet router settings?
Then, you have a second issue: audible artifacts when playing to particular KEF Zone. You mentioned that it sounds distorted. Logs show you’re using a DSP profile in MUSE on this Zone. Can you please share a screenshot of the Signal Path for the configuration that has distortion?
Just checking in on this. Have you had a chance to confirm which Zones are on WiFi, and whether disabling Smart WiFi in the PlusNet router made any difference? We’ve reopened this thread at your request. What is the specific problem you’re currently facing? We don’t see any playback interruptions in the most recent logs, but there are other obvious problems interrupting Roon. Roon logs show that this server might only have intermittent access to the network. Specifically, this Roon Server instance can’t reliably reach essential cloud services; background requests to update the date/time or fetch track metadata are failing or timing out.
More specific to your symptom, Roon Server is receiving device discovery announcements to and from the KEF endpoint in question, but the handshake rarely completes without a network change event disrupting it.
Your BT hub is providing WiFi in this setup, but can you provide a little more detail about where this actual speaker is connecting to the network relative to the Roon Server machine? Is there another WiFi access point or mesh node in between?
