Description Of Issue

very, very slow to switch between tracks. while roon is thinking about playing the next track, the track progress bar shows a side-to-side flashing animation.

We’re talking more than 30 seconds pause before playing anything.

Hello @Tony_Withers ,

Apologies for the delay! Our team’s queue is longer than typical at the moment, but we’re working to get back to everyone as quickly as we can.

Can you please confirm if your Mac’s System Output also has the same issue or is it limited to the USB DAC?

If you try to copy a few files over to the Macbook local HDD, do you still have the issue occur?

Switched to system output (which outputs to the same USB DAC) and that seemed to work okay.

The DAC is an old Schiit Bifrost. I switched back to the DAC as output, and in device setup changed max bits per sample from 32 to 24. It looks like that fixed it.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
