Where are you having trouble logging in?

· I can't log into the Roon app

Describe the issue

I have for years run ROON on a PC connected by USB to one DAC. At present it is a one year old i7, Windows 11 machine with solid state drives and 32 gB of RAM . Today I switched on my PC....opened ROON which said it needed an update. Got a coffee, came back to stereo room, ROON was not running, tried to open it again...nothing. Tried to open as admin, responded yes to allowing it to make changes to system....nothing...will not run.

All wired...nothing has changed in last 2 to 3 years

Hey @kjwho,

Thanks for writing in, it’s good to see you on the community again!

I was able to take a look into your account and see that your windows 11 is running a build thats a bit outdated at this point - you’re currently on 1277 and we just released build 1413 today!

The easiest way to do this would be to re-download Roon from our website:

https://roon.app/en/downloads

If for some reason that doesn’t help, you can refresh your database which will also prompt a fresh install.
The steps for this may be found below:

  • Make a Backup of your current RoonServer Database
  • Exit out of RoonServer
  • Navigate to your RoonServer’s Database Location
  • Find the folder that says “RoonServer”
  • Rename the “RoonServer” folder to “RoonServer_old”
  • Reinstall the RoonServer App from our Downloads Page to generate a new RoonServer folder
  • On the Roon Remotes, press “Use another Roon Server” and connect to the new database

Let me know how it goes! :+1:

Thanks…I re-downloaded ROON and am now happily listening to music…even though it is Leonard Cohen :slightly_smiling_face:. Roon seems to have kept all my settings so my devices are OK.
